We provide permanent, optically clear microscope slide mounts of your algal and bacterial samples. These slides require no special storage arrangements or preservation. For example, one 1000 mL sample bottle can be transformed into three HPMA mounted slides (25 mm x 75 mm x 1 mm) that are convenient to store and take up very little space. The slides will not degrade with time, have minimal cell distortion, and maintain good quality fluorescence if the correct preservative is used (e.g. glutaraldehyde). Each slide is permanently labeled with an embedded tracking number for easy identification that cannot be separated from the sample slide. A corresponding slide label is affixed and carries relevant information pertaining to the sample: sample type, date of sample, system name, station, sample volume, area, etc. All necessary information is on the microscope slide label to calculate correct densities.
